About This Project

HCWA’s collection system related strategies, policies, procedures, resources, and information management were assessed. The process began with a three pronged discovery phase that consisted of analyzing data, reviewing documents, and interviewing employees. Findings and recommendations from the discovery phase were categorized into nine different focus areas. The recommendations were presented to HCWA staff who were able to provide feedback. The assessment found that HCWA’s infrastructure was performing at a high level, and its staff were knowledgeable and dedicated. Recommendations fell under three high level opportunities: 1) optimize resource allocation based on system risk and need, 2) enhance data collection, management, and usage within information management systems, and 3) document and refine business practices such as SOPs, training, and QAQC. After completing the Collection System Assessment, Blue Cypress developed a Collection System Optimization Plan, which provided a guide for implementing the assessment recommendations.
