The City of Spokane is the second largest city in the state of Washington. Due to its size, the procurement and contracting department must review, process, and implement millions of dollars’ worth of vital City business. While procurement and contracting faced increased demands on its services, the capacity and technology to handle these demands had not grown in kind. David Gordon, previously with FCS Group, worked with City staff to build a structure process for assessing workload needs and process improvements. Recommendations to the City of Spokane outlined up to $12M in potential cost savings for the City over a period of 10 years.
